The European Decontamination Institute launchs the EDI Special Publication 2020: a specialized book that represents the efforts of the association to obtain a recognition of the importance of the decontamination industry and its regulation in Europe.

This publication focuses on disseminating information about why decontamination is necessary and define what waste are hazardous and why are dangerous, through articles by companies and collaborating entities that support EDI’s actions and are involved in this commitment.

The EDI Special Publication 2020 counts on the collaboration of specialized national associations, public R&D institutes and international experts from reference organization like the European Chemicals Agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency, European Commission DG-Environment, European Network on Silica (NEPSI), Danish Technological Institute, European Association for ETICS (EAE), …

Due to the contents, the publication is aimed at stakeholders, decontamination entities (national associations, contractors and suppliers) and any other organizations that are involved in hazardous waste, decommissioning, dangerous substances and decontamination.

Since 2013, EDI has been working involved with the decontamination activities as an organization that promotes business activity referred to the proper decontamination of this waste.

This document is another piece of the association’s work to overcome the lack of knowledge and formation on decontamination topics.

From EDI we are convinced that this publication will be a useful document about the industry, the standards and techniques in decontamination and the novelties that you have to know if you are involved in it.

The European Decontamination Institute would like to thank the sponsors for their confidence in the publication. The EDI Special Publication is possible thanks to BLASTRAC, ASTILLO and IETS.

The EDI Special Publication 2020 is available in EDI Library for online consultation (for free) or to order a hard copy (50 €).
