Rui Silva shared expertise on asbestos decontamination at the EDA Convention 2025

From June 12th to 14th, the EDA Annual Convention 2025 was held in Venice, Italy, bringing together contractors, manufacturers, associations, and other key stakeholders from across Europe. EDI was also there with decontamination presentations.

Among the event’s standout contributions was the presentation by Mr. Rui Silva, Technical Director at Interamianto, the leading Portuguese company specializing in asbestos removal which uis member of EDI.

With more than 25 years of international experience, Mr. Silva shared his valuable insights on one of the most pressing topics in demolition and decontamination: asbestos. His presentation focused on the complexities of asbestos decontamination in power plant projects, highlighting real-world challenges and best practices for ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

His contribution was especially relevant, reinforcing the need for technical expertise and cross-border collaboration when dealing with hazardous substances in demolition environments.
