The European Asbestos Forum (EAF) is set to be held at the Marriott Grand Palace Hotel in Brussels on 12 & 13 December 2024,  bringing together industry professionals, researchers, and experts to address critical issues surrounding asbestos management and decontamination. This annual event has established itself as a vital platform for discussing the latest developments, sharing knowledge, and promoting collaboration among stakeholders in the sector.

This year, the European Demolition Institute (EDI) will have a significant presence at the forum, underlining its commitment to advancing safety standards and best practices in the field of hazardous materials management. The Secretary General of EDI is scheduled to deliver a keynote presentation, which will focus on recent innovations in decontamination techniques, regulatory updates, and the importance of effective asbestos management strategies. This presentation aims to enhance awareness and understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the industry, particularly in the context of increasing regulatory scrutiny and the need for sustainable practices.

In addition to the keynote address, EDI will be distributing copies of its highly anticipated Special Publication 2024. This publication serves as an essential resource for professionals in the field, offering insights into the latest research, case studies, and best practices related to asbestos management and decontamination. Attendees will have the opportunity to obtain a copy in person, making it a valuable addition to their professional library.

The European Asbestos Forum 2024 promises to be an enriching experience for all participants. With a lineup of expert speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, the forum will facilitate important conversations on the future of asbestos management and the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of workers and the public.

As the event approaches, EDI encourages all professionals in the asbestos and decontamination sectors to attend, engage in meaningful dialogue, and explore the resources available.
