EDI studies the status of asbestos regulations in Europe

- Following the adoption of the new European Directive on asbestos management, EDI studies the particular situation in each country.
A few months ago, decontamination professionals, as well as all those involved in this activity, were faced with a new concern: the approval of a new European Directive on asbestos management.
EDI, aware of the concern of professionals throughout Europe and the disparity that exists from one country to another, is studying the situation in each of these countries, as well as the aforementioned regulations.
EDI has also contacted the European Commission’s DG Employment to find out the next steps to be taken in this regard. The agency has informed that it is working on updating Directive 2009/148/EC and that, in principle, the measures will not be implemented until mid-2022.
