28/08/2025
The EDA Annual Convention 2025, which took place from June 12th to 14th in Venice, Italy, brought together key players in Europe’s demolition and decontamination sectors, and the program included two presentations about decontamination.
One of the expert voices was Mr. Markus Sommer, Managing Director of KAVARMAT, who delivered a interesting presentation on a critical hazardous substance: Chromium VI. Titled “The Chromium (VI) Regulatory Paradox – Colorful into the Lungs,” it addressed the health risks and regulatory gaps surrounding this toxic substance, drawing attention to the urgent need for safer practices in handling and decontamination.
With over 35 years of experience in high-temperature insulation for automotive, industrial, and power plant applications, Mr. Sommer has been a driving force behind innovation in his family’s business. In 2020, he developed Cleansulation® Technology, which merges high-performance insulation with improved cleanliness, an advancement that reflects his deep understanding of the challenges facing our industry.
