Decontamination at the EDA Convention 2026

As a close partner of the European Demolition Association, EDI participated actively in the EDA Annual Convention 2026 that took place in Dublin, Ireland, from June 10 to 12.

Hosted at Croke Park Stadium, the three-day event brought together contractors, experts, and industry stakeholders for a program combining technical conferences, specialist workshops, and an active exhibition and networking area. Throughout the convention, participants engaged in discussions on key topics shaping the future of the sector, including circular economy applications, nuclear decommissioning, digital technologies, regulatory frameworks, and large-scale industrial and offshore projects.

Inside the program

The convention opened on Wednesday, 10 June, with a series of technical workshops addressing some of the most pressing and emerging topics in the sector. Among them were sessions dedicated to circular economy principles applied to nuclear decommissioning projects, presented by Vladimir Michal (International Atomic Energy Agency), and an update on insulation materials containing freons and CFCs led by Marianne Hedberg (MHMBYGGE in cooperation with EKO-SERVICE Scandinavia), who was part of the EDI Guide Fluorinated Gases in Insulation Foams.

Thursday, 11 June, represented the core of the professional programme, with a full day of conference sessions divided into four thematic blocks and concluded with the traditional Formal Dinner in a emblematic location. This year was in the Gravity Bar at the Guiness Storehouse.

Moreover, the event offered other leisure activities, that created spaces for networking, like the Welcome Cocktail or a guided tour for all participants.
