EDA participated in DEMCON with a workshop about Demolition and Decontamination


The European Demolition Association, EDA, and the Industry Association for Building Preparation of Sweden, BFB, organized a workshop about demolition & decontamination on September 28 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The activity took place in the frame of the trade fair DEMCON 2018, on September 27-28 in the Capital City of the Scandinavian Country.

International panelists debated about how the demolition and decontamination activities are changing the industry. They also talked about legal requirements in the demolition process and the new business models for demolition and waste management activities.

Lars Sandström, BFB – Secretary-General, welcomed all visitors and introduced the current trends of the workshop:

  • ‘New EU C&D waste management Protocol and the specific legislation in Sweden on hazardous waste’. Marianne Hedberg, Swedish Construction Federation (BI) – Expert environmental Issues.
  • ‘An overall vision of the European trends´. Jose Blanco, EDA – Secretary-General
    • Round table and debate. Panelist:
      Sweden – Contractor. Igor Kecskés-Maconkai, BFB Board member
      Finland – Contractor. Nikolas Ruotsalainen, DELETE GROUP OY – International Trade Manager
      Sweden – Supplier. Svend M. Andersen, ANDERSEN CONTRACTOR AB – CEO

Closing remarks were given by Igor Kecskés-Maconkai, BFB and EDA Board member, who expressed his gratitude to all participants for being there.
